The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Regulation No. 769 on subsidy for drainage of agricultural land.

The purpose of this Regulation is to increase the quality of previously drained agricultural land by providing subsidies for drainage of poorly drained soils, with potential for the increase of agricultural production and to minimize erosion and runoff of nutrients into watercourses. Subsidies for drainage of agricultural land shall correspond to NOK 1 000 per hectare.

Land Survey Fees Ordinance.

In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to fees to be paid for services rendered by competent authorities in the field of land survey.
