This Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is composed of 17 articles and two Annexes, sets out the content and method of preparing the detailed plan to reduce flood risk, which includes the timetable for preparing the plan and its various content. The aim of preparing plan to reduce flood risks is to reduce harmful effects of floods on human health, environment, cultural heritage and economic activity in areas of significant impact of flooding and associated erosion.

The construction, operation and maintenance of works for the removal of obstructions, improvement of rivers and foreshores and the prevention of erosion of lands by tidal and non-tidal waters shall be approved by the Marine Ministerial Holding Corporation and carried out by the Constructing Authority. For the purpose of constructing works for the improvement of rivers and foreshores, any lands may be constituted as River and/or Foreshore Improvement Districts by the Ministerial Corporation.

Decree No. 4/01 regulating Coastal Management Plans (POOC).

This Decree, composed of 18 articles and two Annexes, regulates spatial planning of all national coastal area. In particular, it regulates the formulation and approval of Coastal Area Management Plans (POOC). The Decree defines POOC objectives, formulation requirements and procedures. Moreover, it institutes Permanent Technical Commissions to operate at Province level providing technical recommendations. Furthermore, the Decree rules on POOC approval and on the subsequent public works’ implementation (including control procedures). Finally, it recalls applicable sanctions.

The Council and the representatives of the Member States adopted this Resolution in order to approve the general approach and strategy of the programme 'Towards sustainability' presented by the Commission. As a result, a European Community programme of policy and action in relation to the environment and sustainable development is hereby laid down. This Regional Act lays down the legislative framework concerning the protection of soil, water resources and coastal territories in Toscana. The Act establishes principles for the adoption of programmes, plans and projects to undertake interventions that have an impact on such resources. A Commission for Soil Protection is established (art. 4). Provisions on monitoring and penalties are laid down too.

These Regulations provide, insofar as applications for leases and licences under section 2 of the Foreshore Act 1933 to carry out developments on the foreshore are concerned, for prescribed times for consideration of Environmental Impact Statements provided further to the European Communities (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 1989 and lists prescribed bodies to whom the Environmental Impact Statements will be provided for comment.
