These Regulations, made in terms of section 45 of the Communal Land Reform Act, provide with respect to a wide variety of matters concerning communal land and communal land rights. Part I deals with (application for) customary land rights. It specifies the maximum size of land that may be held under customary land right and specifies particulars pertaining to allocation of customary land right.

Aiming at the Conservation and Sustainable Management of Rangelands, as announced in the Vision, the Jordan Government has elaborated the National Rangeland Strategy, updating the strategy developed in 2001, to be implemented within maximum 5 years. The overall goal is to support and develop the rangelands sector and enhance the integrative role of concerned parties and participation of local communities in natural resources management.

The scope of this Regional Law shall be to ensure conservation and rational tenancy of agricultural land and urban land and it establishes requirements for grazing and passage of cattle on the regional territory. Owners of cattle must form their livestock in herds and appoint a herdsman. In case of impossibility to for a herd, the owners must perform grazing personally or, in alternative, to keep cattle indoors. Passage of cattle to the collection points for the formation of herd shall be performed by owners of cattle or by persons appointed thereby.

The objects of this Act, consisting of 99 sections divided into six Chapters and completed by one Schedule, are: a) to provide rules about each neighbour’s responsibility for dividing fences and for trees so that neighbours are generally able to resolve issues about fences or trees without a dispute arising; and b) to facilitate the resolution of any disputes about dividing fences or trees that do arise between neighbours.

The present Law lays down provisions relating to the right of wood and pasture exploitation in the Region of Carinthia. This Act provides rules for the prospecting for and mining of minerals specified in the First Schedule to this Act. Save to the extent provided for in this Act, it shall not apply to matters relating to petroleum and hydrocarbon gases. The Cabinet Secretary responsible for mining, the Principal Secretary of the responsible ministry and any person shall be guided by the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution and in particular Articles 10, 66 (2), 201 (c) and (d), and 232 of the Constitution and the principles of leadership and integrity.

This Act makes provision for the recognition, protection and registration of community land rights and also provides for conversion of community land, special rights and entitlements with respect to community land, environment and natural resources management of community land and settlement of disputes relating to community land.
