These Rules make minor amendments to several rules of the Land Surveyors Act (Chapter 156). Following rule 13 a new part is inserted: Part II A dealing with continuing professional development units which registered surveyors obtain by successfully completing activities, courses and programmes authorizing them to engage in survey work in Singapore.

These Regulations amend the Waste Management (Use of Sewage Sludge in Agriculture) Regulations, 1998 by replacing the two tonne per hectare per year limit on the amount of dry matter to be added to soil, with limits based on absolute quantities of specified heavy metals which may be introduced into soil per hectare per year subject to the carrying out of nutrient management plans.
These Regulations prescribe standards for the use of sewage sludge in agriculture. The Regulations give effect to Council Directive 86/278/EEC of 12 June, 1986 on the protection of the environment, and in particular of the soil, when sewage sludge is used in agriculture.
The present Act lays down provisions relating to the land regime in the James Bay and New Québec Territories.
The present Act lays down provisions relating to lands in the domain of the state. In particular, it applies to all lands that form part of the domain of the State, including the beds of watercourses and lakes and the parts of the bed of the St. Lawrence river and the Gulf of St. Lawrence belonging to Québec by right of sovereignty.
