Neighbourhood Planning (General) and Development Management Procedure (Amendment) Regulations 2016 (S.I. 873 of 2016).

These Regulations amend the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 so as to, among other things: to prescribe circumstances in which a local planning authority must designate all of the area specified in a neighbourhood area application; insert a new Part 8A which provides for cases where a qualifying body requests the Secretary of State to intervene to decide whether to put a proposal for a neighbourhood development order or plan to referendum.

Act amending the Building Act.

The present Act introduces some amendments to the Building Act of 11 December 2008. In particular, the Act amends article 51 establishing that provided that the safety and exposure are ensured and the adjacent stocking is not impaired by the structural measures, the building authority can grant a forest distance reduced to 7.00 m. Article 66, paragraph is repealed.

This Decree provides for certain dealings in land related to a loan facility and relative mortgages and title in native land for the development of a coastal area. The Decree seeks to protect funds advanced by the Fiji National Provident Fund by providing for accelerated transfer of title and relative registration by the Land Registrar. Land involved in these dealings includes native land covered by a Land Swap Agreement for which the Native land Trust Board holds specified powers.

The present Ordinance introduces some amendments to the Soil Improvement Ordinance of 29 September 2009. In particular, the Ordinance amends article 3 establishing that a site-fixed facility for the abstraction of irrigation water from surface waters or ground water is considered to be eligible for funding within the meaning of this Ordinance, provided that a concession pursuant to the Water Rights Act is available.

This Act makes provision for the establishment of the Outer Islands Development Corporation as a body corporate. The Corporation shall— (a) be responsible for the management and development of the Outer Islands; (b) advise the Minister on— (i) the development of such activities as may lead to a more economic exploitation of the Outer Islands; (ii) the grant or determination of leases over the Outer Islands on such terms and conditions as shall warrant their optimum use.
