Land area of 846.8997 hectare in Ou Chum district, Ratanakiri province has downsized from Forest Cover 2002 and reclassified as "State Private Land" for granting purpose as communal ownership to 165 families of Kreung indigenous community on 20 land parcels including 10 parcels for residential, 10 parcels for traditional agriculture in L'ak commune, Ou Chum district, Ratanakiri province.

La investigación rastrea el impacto del conflicto armado en los medios de vida de la población del corregimiento de Tutunendo en el municipio de Quibdó, departamento del Chocó. El trabajo interpreta el modo y los medios de vida de los moradores afro descendientes de este territorio, para poder dar cuenta de las transformaciones sociales, culturales, políticas y económicas que han tenido lugar debido al impacto del conflicto armado.

Indigenous Peoples and local communities hold a large share of the world’s land area under customary systems. However, there is a tremendous gap between what is held by communities in practice and what is formally recognised by governments.

Marked power imbalances often result in communities losing out in use conflicts over their territories and resources. This applies in particular to extractive industries and infrastructure projects. Community protocols can help bring the negotiating parties together at eye level and create a balance of interests.

Neste artigo apresentamos um breve olhar sobre a guerra civil em Moçambique, tendo como pano de fundo a obra de Christian Geffray, La Cause des Armes au Mozambique, que marca um ponto de viragem epistemológico nos estudos sobre as causalidades da guerra moçambicana. Pretendemos enquadrar essa discussão numa perspectiva antropológica mais vasta, dos denominados estudos sobre a antropologia da guerra, contribuindo igualmente com dados empíricos nossos, recolhidos ao longo de várias estadias de terreno na região centro de Moçambique, entre 1994 e 2001.

The initiative to investigate the housing situation of teachers in Namibia was triggered by teacher

In the Mekong region, conflicts between local communities and large scale land concessions are widespread. They are often difficult to solve. In Cambodia, an innovative approach to conflict resolution was tested in a case involving a private company, Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL), and several indigenous communities who lost some of their customary lands and forests when the company obtained a concession to grow rubber in the Province of Ratanakiri. The approach was developed by CSOs Equitable Cambodia (EC) and Inclusive Development International (IDI) with the support of QDF funding from MRLG.
