Based on data from the Land Matrix database, this paper briefly analyses large-scale land acquisitions in the context of current complex and dynamic land and climate governance discourse. The paper tries to explain the inter linkages between land and climate governance, within the water-food-energy nexus, and the increasing and important role for science, technology and innovation in agriculture in order to become more resilient to current and future challenges in climate and land governance.

El Instituto para el Desarrollo Rural de Sudamérica (IPDRS) ofrece el presente artículo que surgió de la reflexión de la temática de tierras en Argentina. La autora hace una descripción de la problemática del acceso a la tierra y las acciones concretas que el Gobierno de ese país ha realizado para cambiar esa situación. De esta forma, el presente artículo sirve como un documento descriptivo del problema de la tierra y plantea una visión crítica a la situación actual.

The notion that the formal titling and individualization of land rights in developing countries lead to higher investments in land and agricultural productivity holds sway in academic and development circles. In this paper, this notion is analyzed based on a comparative study of land reform programs and their implications for access to land, credit, and agricultural investments in Ghana, Kenya, and Vietnam. It focuses on how different access routes to land influence access to credit, and the transaction costs of land reform programs for agricultural investments.

Uganda discovered commercial quantities of oil in the country in 2006 and ever since, there has been increased activity in the exploration of oil and gas. The exploration activities are being undertaken in the Albertine Graben in mostly the districts of Hoima, Buliisa, and Nwoya by international oil companies contracted by the government. El presente artículo tiene origen en el Foro virtual del área de Interaprendizaje, en su análisis a la Ley 775 de Promoción de la Alimentación Saludable en Bolivia. Este foro del IPDRS generó ideas y críticas a la norma, entre las que se encuentra la imagen de los alimentos y su papel en el ejercicio del derecho a la salud. El IPDRS se complace en presentar este trabajo que aborda el análisis realizado a la Ley 775 desde la imagen de los productos y la soberanía alimentaria.
