This National Agriculture Sector Strategy (NASS)for the five year period 2012 – 2016 is a multi-sectoral document which aims to provide a comprehensive guide to the development of agriculture sector, with a special focus on the farmer, and what is needed to improve productivity and increase economic returns.

The present Agreement - made under section 35 of the Constitutino of Canada - constitutes the full and final settlement in respect of the aboriginal rights, including aboriginal title, in Canada of Yale First Nation. For the purpose of the present Agreement “section 35 Rights of Yale First Nation” means the rights, anywhere in Canada, of Yale First Nation, that are recognized and affirmed by section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982.

The present Agreement is a political or policy document between the Government of Canada, Government of Yukon and Yukon First Nations as represented by the Council of Yukon First Nations (CYFN). This Agreement is a common template for negotiating First Nation Final Agreements. It is important to note that the Umbrella Final Agreement, on its own, is not a legally enforceable document.

The present Agreement and the ensuing Final Agreement shall have the following objectives: a) The exercise by the Crees of greater autonomy and greater responsibilities regarding the governance of Category IB and II lands, in particular with respect to governance powers of a local and regional nature concerning, among other things, the planning and use of the territory and resources; b) The modernization of the governance regimes at the regional level on Categories II and III lands situated in the Territory; c) The concrete participation by the Crees in the governance of the Category III la

The present Agreement constitutes the full and final settlement in respect of the aboriginal rights, including the aboriginal title, of the Crees of Eeyou Istchee with respect to the use and ownership of lands and Resources in Nunavut and in the area comprising Hudson Bay and James Bay. Furthermore, the Agreement settles the land and resource rights, including those of Canada and the Crees, over the islands and the marine waters in this area.

The present Agreement - made under section 35 of the Constitution of Canada - is a basic document that lays out the governing power of each of the 5 Maa-nulth First Nations. Each of the five nations has their own constitution . This means that they have the authority to enact laws and govern themselves. The law-making powers include lands and land management, such as land ownership, land registration, expropriation, sub surface ownership, protection of land base, submerged land, watershed land. Other fields are social development, cultural heritage, education, economic development.

The present Agreement - made under section 35 of the Constitution of Canada - consists of 22 chapters that exhaustively define Nisga’a rights and responsibilities in relation to land, natural resources, governance, the administration of justice, the environment, taxation and numerous other matters, such as lands, land titles, forest resources, fisheries, wildife and migratory birds, environmental assessment and protection, administration of Justice, transition of the Indian Act.

These will: i) provide real social and community benefits, both locally and nationally; ii) support thriving woodland-based industries and iii) contribute to a better quality environment throughout Wales.
