An information ecosystem is an extremely vast and cluttered space. What data exist? What data is up to date? What data is reliable? Who owns the data? Can I use the data without inflicting harm? Who are the data subjects? Many people across numerous sectors struggle with such questions and more. The land governance sector in India is no different. But somehow, it seems the land data ecosystem in India is more complex and controversial.

Overview of the State of Forests and Forest Management in Azerbaijan derives from the project on the state of forests in the Caucasus and Central Asia and presents the forest resources and the forest sector of Azerbaijan, including trends in, and pressures on forests. The overview describes policies and institutions of forest sector in Azerbaijan and major challenges the sector faces as well as policy responses in place or planned.

This paper is one of three thematic case studies resulting from a set of pilot projects undertaken jointly by civil society and private business partners from 2016–2019 in five countries in sub-Saharan Africa. These pilots sought to test how private companies could collaborate with civil society organisations and other stakeholders to implement responsible agribusiness investments that recognise and respect community land rights, and to develop innovative tools and approaches that could be adopted and implemented at greater scale.

Esta hoja informativa presenta resultados cuantitativos y cualitativos sobre la deforestación en las comunidades nativas, así como mapas detallados sobre la deforestación entre 2001 y 2015 y sus posibles causas en las más de 1300 CCNN tituladas. También realiza un análisis a partir de la región, el pueblo indígena, la densidad poblacional, los años de ocupación del lugar y la distancia de carreteras. Se presentan detalles sobre las 10 CCNN más y menos deforestadas, sobre todo en San Martín y Ucayali, las regiones de trabajo del proyecto ProTierras Comunales (PTC).

Los aspesctos técnicos mencionados en este documento tienen como objetivo socializar una seria de normativas y procedimientos que tendrian que ser establecidos en territorios de poblaciones indígenas y de afrodescendientes, para discutir sobre la realización de proyectos urbanos en estas áreas de Nicaragua. One of the main components of Indonesia's Just Economy policy is extensive and rapid land reform, which targets about 12% of the country's land area for redistribution to farmers and communities by 2019. Much of the reform is occurring on forest land. At the same time, the country has pledged a significant reduction of its greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, two thirds of which is to be achieved from forests. Hence agrarian reform potentially conflicts with emission reduction commitments.

O desenvolvimento da atividade pecuária dentro de Reservas Extrativistas na Amazônia tem sido motivo de polêmicas e debates inflamados na área ambiental desde o estabelecimento da Lei do SNUC. O histórico do movimento extrativista teve nos empates sua principal bandeira de luta, como estratégia de combate ao avanço da fronteira agropecuária. Independentemente dos avanços do movimento, é fato que a pecuária bovina se configurou, ao longo dos últimos 20 anos, como o uso predominante nas áreas desmatadas na Amazônia, inclusive dentro das Reservas Extrativistas.

The Bhutan Forest Note articulates opportunities for supporting Bhutan's sustainable development aspirations, including its constitutional commitment to maintain at least 60 percent of the country's land area under forest cover and to better respond or prepare for vulnerabilities such as climate change and natural disasters.
