Declaración de las 50 organizaciones integrantes de la Coalición Internacional para el Acceso a la Tierra (International Land Coalition – ILC), de 16 países de América Latina y el Caribe reunidos en Lima, Perú, para la XII Asamblea Regional y en el X Foro de la Tierra de América Latina y el Caribe 2019 que se realizó bajo el lema: "La gobernanza de la tierra tras medio siglo de Reformas Agrarias en América Latina y el Caribe”.

O Censo Indiano de 2011 contabilizou 833 milhões de pessoas vivendo em áreas rurais, sendo agricultores cerca de 95,8 milhões. A Índia rural, nas últimas décadas, passa por uma grave crise agrária, como consequência da comercialização da agricultura, da dominação do setor por corporações multinacionais, dívidas enormes entre os pequenos agricultores e trabalhadores agrícolas. Há uma epidemia de suicídios, altas taxas de desnutrição e crises em cascata entre artesãos e mineiros, os outros trabalhadores de áreas rurais.

Este artigo analisa os conflitos de terra que decorreram da instalação de uma fábrica de ferro na região da Ilamba, no interior de Angola, na segunda metade do século XVIII. A desapropriação das terras africanas, na África Centro-Ocidental, em períodos anteriores ao século XIX, é uma temática pouco abordada pela historiografia.

The Lands Act 1964 was the first comprehensive piece of legislation which came into existence to pave the way for land reform. Key objectives of the Act were a) enhancing the standard of living of people dependent on land including through ensuring “equitable distribution of agricultural land”; and b) securing rapid economic development and wellbeing of the general population through attaining optimum agricultural growth.

From 2009-2015 Namati and partners CTV in Mozambique;LEMU in Uganda and SDI in Liberia supported more than 100 communities to document and protect their customary land rights. In late 2017 Namati evaluated the impacts the process had on communitiesresponses to outsiders seeking community lands and natural resources. Of the 61 communities assessed;46% had been approached by outside actors seeking community lands and natural resources since completing their land protection efforts.
