Esta obra propõe uma reflexão aprofundada sobre a realidade política e social da Guiné-Bissau. Ela resulta de uma pesquisa inédita, destinada a captar, processar e analisar a opinião pública do país. Neste sentido, procura dar resposta a perguntas tais como: O que pensa o povo guineense do seu país?

Este texto apresenta algumas ideias relacionadas com os processos de (re)construção das identidades familiares, suscitadas no decorrer de uma investigação sobre estratégias de sobrevivência e reprodução social de famílias da periferia de Maputo. Introduzindo o texto com uma caracterização geral das estratégias mencionadas, de modo a fundamentar a importância da compreensão da dimensão identitária na sua análise, a autora analisa alguns dos processos simbólicos através dos quais se reconstroem e se perpetuam as identidades familiares no universo de estudo.

O Panorama Regional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutrição é uma publicação que apresenta uma atualização sobre a situação da segurança alimentar e nutrição na América Latina e no Caribe.

O relatório faz parte de um trabalho conjunto da Organização das Nações Unidas para a Alimentação e a Agricultura (FAO); o Fundo Internacional para o Desenvolvimento Agrícola (FIDA); a Organização Pan-Americana da Saúde/Organização Mundial da Saúde (OPAS/OMS); o Fundo das Nações Unidas para a Infância (UNICEF); e o Programa Mundial de Alimentos das Nações Unidas (WFP).

Opresente  estudo  teve  como  objetivo  sistematizar  os  métodos  tradicionais  da  produção  do  arroz  da  Etnia-Manjaca.  O trabalho  foi  realizado  por  meio  das  entrevistas  com  agricultores  familiares  do  Setor  de  Calequisse.  Os  resultados mostraramque o sistema da produçãonas terras altas é o que mais prejudica o ecossistemae a produção nas bolanhas é mais rentável.

A ciência tem mostrado nas últimas décadas que a conta- minação por mercúrio (Hg) é um problema ambiental e de saúde pública. Uma importante fonte poluidora é o garim- po ilegal de ouro, que vem crescendo vertiginosamente, deixando um rastro de destruição. Outras atividades rea- lizadas por seres humanos, incluindo o desmatamento, a queimada de florestas e a construção de hidrelétricas, au- mentam os níveis de contaminação por mercúrio em cor- pos d’agua e no ambiente.

Context and Background:Women represent close to 51% of the Cameroonian population and they are more than 70% active in food and market gardening  activities (INS, 2010). To this end, they need land and  capital to carry out their activities in order to make agriculture profitable and ensure food security for their families.

Given the length of the conflict and multiplicity of actors embedded in the Colombian war, it becomes necessary to understand the impact that violence, displacement and dispossession have amongst rural producers and in the agroeconomic sector in general. Despite the functioning of tomato production in the financial and nutritional healthy living of most farm families in Ghana, the effects of climate variations on tomato production via the outbreak of tomato pest is generally understudied. Thus, this study aims to explain the effects of climate variation on tomato crops via the outbreak of tomato pests using structural equation modeling (SEM). The profile of the study regions involved the Ashanti Region (AR), Bono Region (BR), and Upper East Region (UER).

Climate-related disasters, especially in vulnerable regions like Sri Lanka, necessitate proactive and anticipatory measures. In response, a detailed community risk assessment was conducted in Nuwara Eliya, Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Division (DSD) to develop anticipatory action plans for floods and landslides.
