This Act provides for various maters relative to property acquired and/or held by municipalities, including expropriation of private land, disposal of municipal property, and management and operation of real property. Municipal property shall include the following: forests and agricultural land as defined by law; water sources, including mineral waters, which are used only by the respective municipality, together with the water intaking equipment and the water distribution networks and equipment, and; water basins, together with their adjacent beaches and quarries of local significance. Municipal property shall be public and private (art 3). The municipality shall establish its property rights over any real property by means of a municipal property deed (art. 4). Municipal property shall be run and managed in the interest of the community of the municipality, in accordance with the provisions of the law and with the care of a good husband and municipal property shall be utilised in accordance with its uses, and for the purposes for which it has been granted (art. 5).
