The purpose of this Ordinance is to grant the Government with the right to acquire private land by resumption for the implementation of public projects.The Government shall publish in the Gazette a Government Notice advising that the resumption of a particular land is required for a public purpose. The Government shall then make an offer of compensation in respect of the resumption to the former owner.The Ordinance further provides for the following matters: claims for compensation; principles of assessment of compensation; power to demise or grant land resumed; payments of compensation and interest; etc.
