This Act makes provision for the appointment of the Administrator-General and defines functions and powers of this public office. The Administrator-General shall be responsible principally for the administration of estates of deceased persons leaving property in Zambia.The Administrator-General shall be a corporation and an Administrator-General and as many assistant Administrators-General as necessary shall be appointed by the Public Service Commission. The Administrator-General shall be responsible for the administration of estates. The District Secretary of a District may, upon request by the Administrator-General, act as its agent. The Act sets out procedures of administration and prohibits any interfering with property of deceased by any person who is not authorized to do so.
