This Decision approves the master plan on peaceful development and utilization of atomic energy in order to: develop atomic application into a sector with greater and more effective contributions to socio-economic development, public health care and environmental protection; ensure safety and security according to international standards for atomic energy-related activities; adopt policies to assure socio-economic development and improve the living standards of people in localities where nuclear facilities exist; etc.Detailed plans on radiation development and application shall be elaborated and shall focus, among other things, on: development of nuclear agricultural centres; development of plant varieties by radiation-induced mutation; application of nuclear and radiotracer techniques to research cultivation land-fertilizer-plant relationship, conduct soil studies, manage irrigation waters and study environmental pollution caused by agricultural production; build irradiation establishments for hygienic and safe preservation of food and foodstuff; develop and apply nuclear analytical techniques and radiotracer techniques to survey marine resources and study the sustainability of the marine environment; etc.
