This Law establishes the State Policy to Fight and Prevent Desertification within the State of Goiás. The Policy, consisting of 6 articles, aims at supporting the environmental control in desertification process areas, through the sustainable use of natural resources, the conservation and preservation of the environment and to promote agro-ecological practices adapted to State environmental conditions; guaranteeing to local populations good conditions of life in order to cope with semi-arid weather and droughts, at promoting the democratization of access to natural resources, biodiversity and agro-biodiversity; etc.
