The present Délįnę Final Self-Government Agreement (FSGA) provides for a combined Aboriginal government with a public government, as well as merging the municipal government and the band council to form a new government structure that will be called the Délįnę Got’įnę Government (DGG). This government is characterized as an "inclusive Aboriginal government" that represents all Délįnę beneficiaries. Beneficiaries in the Sahtu Dene and Métis Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement chose to divide the Sahtu Settlement Area into three districts. The Délįnę District includes the community of Délįnę, Great Bear Lake, and the surrounding area.
