The open data movement is based on the simple premise that data collected for public interest should be publicly available without restrictions. This 2012 report is an assessment of the human rights impact of economic land concessions (ELCs) and other land concessions and major development projects in Cambodia. It includes not only an analysis of concessions pertaining to agroindustry (for example, rubber, sugar, acacia and cassava plantations), but also to concessions for mining, oil and gas, forestry, and concessions for the purposes of tourism, property development, and large scale infrastructure, such as hydropower dams.

This review, prepared for the Special Rapporteur to Brazil, Raquel Rolnik, seeks to present a summary of the issues involved in addressing tenure security and insecurity. The report discuses adequate housing as a component of the right to an adequate standard of living, and on the right to non-discrimination. In doing so, it reports on many studies and published sources, but also draws on personal experience. Prepared for an expert group meeting on Security of Tenure convened by the Special Rapporteur on 22-23 October 2012.

This report provides select findings of an extensive survey of relocation sites in and around Phnom Penh, conducted in 2011 and 2012. The aim of the report is to highlight some key issues facing residents at existing relocation sites, and provide recommendations for both improving existing sites and improving future relocation practices, in cases when relocation is considered unavoidable. The report follows a previous 2007 report ‘Relocation sites in Phnom Penh’.
