The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Regulation 271 of 2016 amends various articles of Regulation 408 of 2015. It also supplements it by introducing ‘the electronic permits system’ as the basis of all state data on requests and permits. The electronic system is part of the integrated register for territory development and manages the interaction of all subjects involved in this process including the applicant, the authorities responsible for issuing the permit and other institutions obligated to give information or approval on the permits. Any subject applying for the permit shall do so through the electronic database.
Marsabit County Planning Act, 2016 (No. 1 of 2016).
This Act provides rules for physical planning, including Integrated Urban Areas and Town Development Planning, in Marsabit County. County plans shall be made in accordance with provisions of Part XI of the County Governments Act, 2012. This Act prescribes content of county physical development plan and creates a county planning unit which within the county government and a county planning unit.

Le présent décret détermine la procédure de délivrance des actes d’urbanisme. Ces actes sont constitués des décisions des autorités publiques compétentes qui autorisent la réalisation d’opérations immobilières (certificat d’urbanisme, du permis de construire, de la déclaration de travaux et du certificat de conformité) qui consacrent des règles d’urbanisme, de construction, d’hygiène, de protection de l’environnement, de l’habitat et de sécurité incendie. En outre, Il organise un régime de répression des violations du règlement d’urbanisme.
Law No. 1067-VIII amending Law No. 973-IV on farming.
Article 1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Farming shall be considered entrepreneurial activity performed by natural persons in the sphere of production of agricultural commodities, processing and trade thereof, with a view of generating income, on plots of land transferred thereto in ownership, tenancy and lease for farming and production of agricultural commodities, individual peasant farming, in accordance with the provisions of acting legislation”.
