The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Native Title (National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Fund) Regulations.

"Fund" means the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Fund established by subsection 201 (1) of the Native Title Act 1993. The fund is a Trust Account for the purposes of section 62A of the Audit Act 1901. Money that is: (a) appropriated by an Act for the purchase and management of land for Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders for social, cultural or economic purposes; and (b) expressed by that Act to be for payment to the relevant trust account; is to be paid into the fund.

This Law regulates the public relations and legal and organizational issues related to the implementation of the land reform in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. Land reform is carried out so as to provide for the redistribution of the land in order to create the necessary conditions for equal in rights development of various forms of economy on the land, the formation of versatile economy, for the determination of the rates of the fees for land, and the rational use and protection of the lands at the territory of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

Offices are organized on a territorial basis: county and district offices, and sub-branches. Territorial competencies are determined in the annex. Offices deal with land administration in the capacity of representatives of the State. The structural organization of county offices shall be determined in the Regulation of Organization and Operation. Offices operate on the basis of an annual plan and may aim at producing surplus.
