The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

The Cabinet of ministers of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan shall be charged to establish the procedure for restructuring of non-effective kolkhozes, sovkhozes and other agricultural enterprises before August 1, 1991. The local Soviets of peoples' deputies in the course of the land reform shall allocate the land plots from the special land stock into possession of individuals and agricultural cooperatives. Law of the Kyrgyz SSR on lease and lease relations.
" Lease is timely compensable contract based possession and use of land, other natural resources, enterprises (associations) and other property complexes and other property necessary to a lessee for independent performance of economic and other activity". Lease is allowed in all branches of economy and may apply to property of all types and forms of ownership (art. 3).
Resolution of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR on the procedure for effectuation of the Law of the Kyrgyz SSR on lease and lease relationships.
Lessees who have entered into lease relationships before the effectuation of this Law shall be entitled to conduct their economic activity in compliance with lease contracts entered into before December 31 of 1989, and those who entered into lease relationships from January 1, 1990 shall conduct their activity in compliance with Legislation Fundamentals of the Soviet Union and Union Republics on Lease. Various tasks are assigned to the executive forces in relation with the implementation of provisions of the Law on lease.
Countryside Access (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1999 (S.I. No. 2197 of 1999).
The principal Regulations provide for payment of aid to farmers who undertake for five years to permit members of the public to have access to an area of set-aside land. They implement in part Council Directive (EC) No. 2078/92 on agricultural production methods compatible with the requirements for protection of the environment and maintenance of the countryside. The new section here added provides that the Minister shall not accept any application for aid in respect of any period beginning on or after 15th January 2000.
Land Act No. 5/98.
A law that regulates land-use planning and rational exploitation of land. Land is property of the Government of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, its exploitation is allowed only under concession or authorization granted by the Government. Agricultural land exploitation areas shall not exceed 300 hectars, but the Council of Ministers may authorize land-use concessions to cooperatives and national or foreign companies for areas not exceeding 1500 hectars.
