Community Services (Torres Strait) Act 1984.

The Act provides for the management of the territory of Torres Strait and for the support to communities residing in the area; it consists of 85 sections divided into 11 Parts. The chief executive is the officer responsible for the administration of the Act. Part 3 provides for the creation of island councils, which are body corporate responsible for the management of council areas. Their operation, functions and powers are regulated under the Act.

Brisbane Forest Park Act 1977.

The Act establishes the Brisbane Forest Park and provides for its management. It is divided in 7 Parts (91 sections). Part 2 specifies which land can become part of the park and the effects on proprietors’ rights of land’s inclusion in the park (sect. 11). Part 3 constitutes the Brisbane Forest Park Advisory Planning Board and specifies its composition, operation, functions and powers. Part 4 establishes the Brisbane Forest Park Administration Authority, a corporation sole constituted by the Minister, responsible for the management of the park.

This Regulation implements the Coastal Protection and Management Act 1995. It fixes coastal building lines, it sets fees and royalties as prescribe by the Act, and it specifies work that is prescribed tidal work. The Regulation is completed by 5 Schedules, respectively on local governments, fees for allocation and dredge management plans, royalties payable for the removal of quarry material, IDAS codes for development aplications for prescribed tidal work, and dictionary.

The Act regulates the management of waste lands, it repeals the Acts of Parliament in force respecting the disposal of waste lands of the Crown of Her Majesty’s Australian Colonies. Under section 6, the existing regulations are maintained in force until altered.
