A range of interventions within the scope of ecosystems-based adaptation (EbA) are being deployed to address the continuing degradation of forest cover, within protected areas and biodiversity conservation corridors in Cambodia. Ecosystem adaptation has involved the use of ecosystem services as part of the overall adaptation strategy. Forest landscape restoration (FLR) is an important dimension in the ADB supported BCCP efforts. This involves mosaic restoration featuring climate-smart agriculture agroforestry, and related conservation work in Koh Kong and Mondulkiri provinces.

For aquaculture to continue along its current growth trajectory and contribute towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, value chains must become more inclusive. Smallholders and other local value chain actors are often constrained by circumstances and market failures in the global aquaculture industry. Integrating these actors into aquaculture value chains through inclusive business models (IBMs) is often touted as a solution to sustainable and ethical trade and business that can generate development outcomes.

Under the auspices of the CIP‐led Scaling Up Sweetpotato through Agriculture and Nutrition project (SUSTAIN), the study reported here sought to understand how the introduction and commercialization of orange-fleshed sweetpotato has affected opportunities and constraints for smallholder sweetpotato farmers, particularly women. A social relations approach was used for the study which included surveys, in‐depth interviews, focal groups discussions, and analysis of existing data. Data collection was carried out in March 2018.

This working paper is a collaboration between two CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs): Fish Agri-Food Systems (FISH) and Roots, Tubers and Bananas (RTB). It documents linkages between fish, roots, tubers and bananas (RTB crops) within food systems; identifies opportunities for strengthened integration in production systems, animal feed and nutritional products; and identifies constraints and research gaps, and provides policy recommendations that support nutrition-sensitive food systems.

The booklet introduces the 24 young entrepreneurs and explains how they are addressing the key youth agripreneurship challenges they are facing.

Reshaping the Future: Gender-responsive Climate Smart Agriculture Options for Northern Uganda

This report seeks to provide an analysis of the political, social, cultural, institutional, environmental, agricultural and economic context of seven districts of Northern Uganda (Kitgum, Agago, Oyam, Lira, Amolatar, Dokolo and Napak), with a view of compiling a basket of climate smart agriculture options that are gender-responsive and suitable for the conditions of the respective districts. We are certain that more options exist, which are not captured in this report.

Livestock policies in Son La Province, Vietnam - a review

Since the market-oriented Doi Moi reforms of the 1980s and 1990s, Vietnam’s livestock sector has experienced rapid growth. Although policies have been implemented at the national and provincial levels to guide this growth in a sustainable manner, blind spots and implementation gaps remain. Through a review of policy documents, grey literature, peer-reviewed journal articles, and key informant interviews, this research seeks to summarize livestock-related policies at the national and provincial levels in Son La, Vietnam.
