This Act shall apply to a morcellement, i.e. the division of a plot of land into two or more lots, but not to subdivision for purposes sale to the Government or a compulsory acquisition under the Land Acquisition Act; a mortgage or a fixed charge; or a sale or a donation of not more than one lot and to a division in kind between co-heirs, ascendants and descendants.

This Proclamation lays down rules relative to the ownership and use of land in the National State of Tigray. Land is declared to be "joint property" of the State and can not be sold, exchanged, given in lease or as bond for an indefinite time. Farmers may use land in their possession under conditions as set out in this Proclamation.

By this Act it is declared for the removal of doubt that the provisions of the Bills of Sale Acts, 1878-1882, of the United Kingdom, requiring the registration and re-registration of Bills of Sale under those Acts, are not in force and have not, since the commencement of the Lands and Deeds Registry Act, been in force in Zambia.

This Act is composed of 35 articles divided into eight Chapters. It aims at establishing the terms under which the creation, exercise, modification, transfer and termination of the right of land use and benefit operates. It regulates ownership of the land and public domain, the right of use and benefit of land, powers and responsibilities of the concerned public bodies.

This Act provides with respect to local government and local authority (i.e. a District Assembly, Town Assembly, Municipal Assembly or City Assembly) in Malawi. For the administration of local government, there shall be local government areas as set out in the First Schedule. This Schedule may be modified by the Minister. For every local government area there shall be an Assembly.

This Act concerns the administration and other aspects of estates subject to intestate succession. The Act deals with aspects of succession such as entitlements of heirs, (agreements on) division of property and sale.

Section 31 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (2), by (a) deletion of "and" in paragraph (e) after the semi-colon; (b) insertion, immediately after paragraph (e) of the following new paragraph (f): fees for transactions in land; and (c) re-numbering of the existing paragraph (f) as paragraph (g). Section 31 confers regulation making powers upon the Minister.

This Act establishes the Uganda Development Bank as a body corporate and defines its objectives, functions and powers. The bank shall provide financial arrangements for, among other things, agricultural modernization. Any lending by the bank shall be adequately secured by land title or other immovable or movable property.

This Act provides for the establishment the Land Transfer Board control by the Land Transfer Board of land transfer transactions in Zanzibar. No permanent transfer of land or long term lease shall take place until the transaction is reviewed and approved by the Land Transfer Board. The Board may withhold its consent on specified grounds.
