The webinar will promote good land banking practices and their practical application in countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia with specific focus on the development of small family farms and providing young farmers access to land. Speakers will highlight how land banking instruments can contribute to sustainable agriculture and rural development at the policy level, and improve farm structure, productivity, and competitiveness of small family farms at the field level.
The FAO is finalizing a study on European good practices on land policy instruments with particular focus on land banking. The webinar is part of the consultation to validate the key recommendations of the draft study.
The session will also support the application and implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure (VGGT).
