Mamun Ur Rashid has strong experiences on land administration and management in partnership with Ministry of Land and Department of Land Records and Survey, Bangladesh. He is knowledgeable and experienced with number of participatory tools and methods in order to selection of state land, women's access over the land and vested property act etc.
He has been working with non profit sector on human rights and governance for last 16 years, mostly project development and management roles. He has experiences of direct land project implementation in order to protect rights of women, widow, religious minorities, indigenous, elderly and disable land owners. He is one of the team member of National land policy formulation committee, National steering committee on land reform, National Budget Advocacy Group etc.

Uttaran is the pioneer leading national non-government to promote rights for landless people of Bangladesh since 1985. As part of its activities under land less people and state land settlement, it has already piloted the participatory land less selection process and state land identification. The process has been accelerated with number of communication materials such as posters, leaflets and brochures. This poster has described the discrimination between men and women during state land allocation and also promote advocacy agenda with government.

Guidelines for Preparing a List of Homeless and Landless People, Bangladesh
The Jamalpur district administration has decided to prepare an online database of the real landless and homeless in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila. Forming the selection committees at Union and Ward level is an effective step to make the list of real landless and homeless people. This will make the identification process of the actual landless, poor and vulnerable people easy, acceptable to all and impartial. I hope that once the list is finalised, it will be useful in selecting beneficiaries for the various safety net and development programmes of the present government.
WOMEN’S RIGHT TO LAND IN BANGLADESH
It has been frequently argued that women’s access to and control over land can potentially lead to greater gender equitability alongside addressing material deprivation. Gender equality today is considered one of the crucial premises for economic and social development as well as women’s empowerment as recognized in the MDGs and SDGs.
Draft National Land Policy in Bangladesh
The Government of Bangladesh has been taking concrete measures to address the problems relating to land administration and management. At the same time, however, the Government recognizes that more needs to be done at the policy level to tackle crucial systemic anomalies. As it stands now, the complexity and magnitude of issues pertaining to land administration and management in Bangladesh cannot be overstated. The nature and volume of land disputes in the nation call for practical measures directed at improving the land administration and management system.
Training on GeoODK in Bangladesh
Training on GeoODK1 was held on 4th and 5th September 2016 at the YWCA2 in Dhaka to develop the staff capacity about the mobile base survey, analysis and presentation.
