This Legislative Decree approves the Code on the Environment, which sets out the legislative framework applicable to all matters concerning environmental protection.The Code is composed of six Parts. Part I (arts. 1-3) defines the application scope and lays down general provisions applicable to all areas covered by the Code. Part II (arts. 4-52) defines and regulates the procedures related to the Strategic Environmental Assessment (VAS), Environmental Impact Assessment (VIA) and Integrated Environmental Authorization (IPPC). The present Decree, which repeals Decree of 22 February 2006 on the landfill of waste, establishes the regulatory framework applicable to the installation and functioning of waste landfills. In addition, it sets out measures for the measurements and checks to be carried out by establishments engaged in the landfill of waste with a view to preventing emissions into the atmosphere and waters. Furthermore, the Decree lays down conditions for waste management.

This Act makes provision for the conservation of nature and the protection of the environment in the Cook Islands. It shall apply to such parts of the Cook Islands and Cook Islands waters as are specified from time to time by the Queen's Representative by Order in Executive Council. The Act consists of 57 sections divided into 11 Parts.The Act establishes the Conservation Service as a body corporate.

The purpose of this Act is to preserve the environment in Svalbard and in particular to protect wilderness, landscape elements, flora, fauna and cultural heritage. The Act shall apply to the entire land area of Svalbard and its waters within the territorial limit. The Act consists of 103 sections divided into 10 Chapters.The Act defines the environmental protection authorities for Svalbard. Protected areas may be established for the protection of habitats, ecosystems, the wilderness or area of natural or historical value.

By virtue of the entry into force at the national level of the Code on the Environment, this Regional Act defines the competences of local authorities (the Region, the Provinces and the Communes) in different matters relevant to environmental protection, namely: land rehabilitation (art. 1), waste management (art.2), issue of authorizations for waste water discharges (art. 3), protection of marine waters and coastal zones (art. 5).

By way of implementation of various acts in force at the national level, this Regional Act lays down provisions concerning different issues of environmental protection and amends certain acts in force in the Abruzzo Region. In particular, the Act refers to the promotion of renewable resources of energy, waste management, issue of the integrated environmental authorization and soil rehabilitation.

This Decision approves the master plan on the socio-economic development of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.The plan aims at developing Ba Ria-Vung Tau into an industrial province strong in marine economy with a system of national and international commercial ports, and into an industrial, touristic and fisheries centre of the region. The socio-economic development shall be achieved on the basis of protecting, regenerating and enriching marine, forest, land and water resources, protecting the environment, particularly ecological and marine.
