The report reviews a broad range of food security and agricultural development policy decisions implemented over the period 2007 to 2012 in more than 70 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Selected policy decisions were analysed following FAPDA’s classification, dividing policy decisions into three main categories: producer-oriented policies, consumer-oriented policies, as well as trade-oriented and macroeconomic policies. Policy decisions reviewed included those most debated and most frequently implemented since the 2007/08 food price crisis.

Resumo Após uma década da aprovação do Estatuto da Cidade - marco regulatório da política urbana no Brasil inserido no ¢mbito das reformas políticas e jurídicas anunciadas pela Constituinte de 1988 - cabe debater se, onde, quando e de que forma este tem sido implementado no país. Este balanço não pode deixar de considerar as dimensões do processo político e social que deram origem ao Estatuto, assim como de que forma estas mesmas dimensões foram se transformando no país ao longo dos dez anos que nos separam de sua aprovação pelo Congresso Nacional.

Definir políticas de suelo es un gran desafío para los administradores urbanos de América Latina. Implica identificar e implementar los instrumentos más apropiados para financiar mejor a las ciudades, disminuir la informalidad, distribuir más equitativamente los servicios públicos y las cargas, y elegir las geotecnologías más apropiadas. Si bien existen numerosas iniciativas en la región, aún se evidencia cierto desconocimiento en lo que se refiere a conceptos y virtudes de todos los instrumentos.

As noted by the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Cambodia (the “Special Rapporteur”) last August at the United Nations (“UN”) Human Rights Council, “Land rights continue to be a major issue in this country.”1 Conflict over land – combined with the widespread and systematic violation of land rights – is one of the most prominent human rights problems faced by Cambodians throughout the country, one whose roots can be traced to the abolition of private ownership when the Khmer Rouge took over power in 1975.

In a rural agrarian economy like that of Nepal, land has traditionally been a primary source of livelihood and security, as well as a symbol of status. Thousands of poor farmers are completely dependent on land for their livelihoods, yet not all of them have access to or control over this fundamental resource. Negotiation for access to land has been a lengthy and complicated process. It remains so in the changed political context of Nepal, where increasing numbers of emerging actors need to be considered, often with conflicting claims and counterclaims.

This article traces the revenue category and legal concept of the Waste Land in Burma/Myanmar
from its original application by the British colonial apparatus in the nineteenth century, to its

This study aims to clarify the features of community plans based on the 'Rural Rejuvenation Act'(RRA), choosing Miaoli county of Taiwan as a case study area. We scrutinized planning documents made by national and county government and conducted interview to government officials who take charge in Rural Rejuvenation. As a result, we clarified two features: 1) the form of planning document is developed by the government but contents are different from community to community, combining various hard and soft programs to deal with varying characteristics of local communities.
