Every landlord of an extent of paddy land in respect of which there is a tenant cultivator shall furnish in the prescribed manner the following information to the Commissioner: (a) name of the landlord; (b) name of the tenant cultivator; (c) extent of the paddy land cultivated by the tenant; (d) any other information as may be required.

These Regulations prescribe the Forms and procedures necessary to nominate a successor who shall be entitled to succeed to the rights of tenant cultivator under the Act, or to cancel a nomination, in respect of the extent of paddy land cultivated, in the event of death or permanent disability.The Regulations further provide for the procedure for registration of a document including the register

Section 15 is amended and provides for the registration of the Tea Small Holdings Societies.

The present Act repeals Section 2 and amends Section 3 as per when it is not possible to serve the notice of eviction, this very notice may be exhibited directly on the land for all to see it and date of eviction shall not be set less than thirty days from being served or shown.

The Ordinance provides for all forest and unoccupied or not cultivated lands, even lands where cinnamon is sown, to be property of the State and their arbitrary occupation unlawful. Perpetrators shall be summoned and only in the case they can demonstrate to have rights of ownership on those lands, they shall be granted their possession.

This Act concerns the protection of tenants in Sri Lanka. Landlords of premises are forbidden from using or threatening force or violence against tenants or persons in occupation of premises (sect. 2). A court order is required to eject a tenant from premises (sect. 5). There are provisions concerning the procedure for ejectment (sect. 6) and the powers of the Commissioner (sect. 7).

The Law ratifies the institution of the Tea Small Holdings Development Authorities, its function and tasks as per the development of the small holdings, , the acquisition of lands and facilities for the tea factories, the promotion of sales and the marketing activities.
