The text is divided into 8 Parts: Preliminary (1); Management Zones (2); Control Of Activities (3) Permits (4); Reviews Of, And Appeals From, Permit (5); Decisions (6); Issue Of Permits By Entities Other Than Authority; Miscellaneous (7); Transitional Arrangements For Certain Activities (8).For purposes of management the Wet Tropics Area is divided into zones in accordance with Part 2. In Part 3, the Plan controls activities in the Wet Tropics Area, by prohibiting certain activities (including interference with a watercourse), allowing certain activities otherwise prohibited, and exempting certain activities that destroy forest products. Article 25 prohibits in principle destruction of forest products in the Area. Other prohibited activities are listed in article 26. Article 27 specifies the activities allowed in all zones, whereas article 33 specifies the activities permitted in all zones. The Wet Tropics Management Authority and a person may enter into a cooperative management agreement under section 41.
