This Act provides for the consolidation of the Acts relating to the declaration of titles to land and the facilitation of its transfer, ans specifically the Real Property Act 1861, the Real Property Act Amendment Act 1878 and the Rights-of-Way Act 1881. It consists of 277 sections divided into 21 parts as follows: Preliminary (I); Objects of this Act(II); The Lands Titles Registration Office (III); The bringing of land under the Act(IV); Registration of title (V); The title of registered proprietors (V); Certificates of title (VII); Easements (VIII); Crown leases (IX); Transfers (X); Leases and surrenders (XI); Mortgages, encumbrances, and discharges (XII); Extensions (XIII); Powers of attorney (XIV); Trusts and transmissions (XV); Caveats (XVI); Ejectment (XVII); The Assurance Fund (XVIII); Special powers and duties of Registrar-General (XIX); Procedure and penalties (XX) and Miscellaneous (XXI).
