This Law regulates the issues originating in the process of performance of metrological activity. It shall be applicable to regulated activities with a view of ensuring uniformity of measurement. This Law shall be applicable to the following fields: (a) protection of human life and health; (b) food quality control and food safety; (c) supervision over the state of environment; and (d) topographic, cartographic, hydrometeorological and land survey practices. The main tasks of metrological activity shall be as follows: (a) implementation of unified state technical policy; (b) protection of citizens and national economy against unreliable measurements; (c) research; (d) saving of all types of natural resources; (d) ensuring quality of national produce; and (e) creation of normative, legal, scientific and technical basis for uniformity of measurements at the national level.
