These Regulations are enacted to strengthen the administration on surveying and mapping and promote the development of the surveying and mapping undertaking. The Regulations consist of 54 Articles divided into 10 Chapters: General Provisions (I); Surveying and Mapping Datums and Systems (II); Basic Surveying and Mapping (III); Boundary Surveying and Mapping and Other Surveying and Mapping (IV); Surveying and Mapping Qualifications and Surveying and Mapping Market (V); Administration on Maps (VI); Administration on the Surveying and Mapping Results (VII) ; Protection and Administration of Survey Markers (VIII); Legal Liabilities (IX); Supplementary Provisions (X). The administrative department of surveying and mapping of the people's government of the autonomous region shall be responsible for the unified supervision and administration of surveying and mapping in the autonomous region, and shall formulate the regional plans for basic surveying and mapping.
