The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Act concerns limitations applying to legal action such as actions of contract and tort; actions to recover land, registered title and rent; actions to recover money secured by a mortgage or charge or to recover proceeds of the sale of land; actions in respect of trust property or movable property of deceased person; and actions against the government and public authorities, etc. The Act also concerns the application of limitation law to arbitration, the acquisition of easements and registration of title to land or easement acquired under Act.

This Notice of the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, made under section 19 of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008, provides norms and standards for the control of the extraction, flaring or recovery of landfill gas at facilities as described in paragraph 4. The standards and norms concern, among other things: planning, design and construction of the facility, operations, management of emergency situations and decommissioning of facilities. The standards also contain monitoring and reporting requirements.

These Rules amend the Rules for the Property Valuers Profession in the Index and in Annexure C.1 with respect to a special concession by the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession to be exempted from registration requirements. These Rules also insert a new Annexure on the registration of public sector professional associated valuers.
