Blockchain-Based Land Management for Sustainable Development

    Peer-reviewed publication
    Dezembro, 2021
    Global

In recent years, many papers have been published on the topics of the blockchain (BC) and blockchain technology (BCT). Some papers put BCT in the context of land registries (LRs), land cadastres (LCs), land registration, land administration (LA) and land management (LM) and its implementation benefits. Some eight years later, from its beginnings in 2014, the question of the future of the proposed concept and whether it has one, has been raised.

Indigenous Peoples’ Food Systems and Biocultural Heritage: Addressing Indigenous Priorities Using Decolonial and Interdisciplinary Research Approaches

    Peer-reviewed publication
    Dezembro, 2021
    Kenya
    China
    India

The food systems and territories of Indigenous Peoples sustain much of the world’s biodiversity, cultivated and wild, through agroecological practices rooted in Indigenous cosmovision and cultural and spiritual values. These food systems have a critical role to play in sustainability transformations but are widely threatened and have received limited research attention. This paper presents the results of four virtual workshops with Indigenous Peoples: a global workshop and local workshops with communities in coastal Kenya, northeast India and southwest China.

Land Endowment and Parental Educational Investment in Rural China

    Peer-reviewed publication
    Dezembro, 2021
    China

Education is fundamental to enhancing the quality of life and ensuring social and economic progress. However, the divisive economic structure separating urban and rural areas in China led to insufficient educational investment in rural China, and trapped farmers’ children in the agricultural sector. Land is one major asset of rural households, and can generate income or be mortgaged for credit used for educational investment.

The Impact of Farmland Tenure Security on China’s Agricultural Production Efficiency: A Perspective of Agricultural Production Factors

    Peer-reviewed publication
    Dezembro, 2021
    China

Improving agricultural production efficiency is an effective means to ensure food security and promote agricultural sustainable development in China. Stable agricultural land property rights help optimize the allocation of production factors and improve production efficiency, and it is of great practical significance to study the influence of farmland tenure security on agricultural production efficiency.

Rural Revitalization and Land Institution Reform: Achievement, Conflict and Potential Risk

    Peer-reviewed publication
    Dezembro, 2021
    Global

Rural depression is a global issue in the process of worldwide urbanization. Compared with rural economic institution reform, rural land institution reform is more thorough in realizing rural revitalization. In this paper, polycentric governance theory is used to introduce marketization reform of collective profit-oriented land (MRCPL). MRCPL aims to allow rural collective profit-oriented construction land to be sold and leased with the same rights and at the same price as state-owned construction land.
