Modélisation Du Rendement Du Blé À L'Échelle Parcellaire En Zone Semi-Aride Du Maroc : Apport De La Télédétection Spatiale Et De L’Intelligence Artificielle

декабря, 2022
Morocco
United States of America

Context and Background Estimating cereal yields in Morocco is still based on the traditional statistical method known as "CCE" crop cutting, which is objective but tedious and requires a lot of logistics, despite the fact that in 2012 a system for predicting cereal yields in Morocco called "CGMS_MA" was introduced to support this method; this system does not allow yields to be estimated at plot level, given the coarse resolution of the integrated satellite images (NDVI_AVHR), which is 1.1km.

The Criteria Used By Motorcyclists To Locate Informal Parking Spaces

декабря, 2022
Global

In Tanzania, the increase in the number of commercial motorcycles operating in the urban areas has resulted to the establishment of informal parking spaces in various parts of towns and cities. The study on the influence of land use on the spatial distribution of informal motorcycle parking spaces applied triangulation techniques to ensure the validity and reliability of the collected data.

Geospatial Data Integration For Intelligent Transportation Systems: A Review Of The State Of The Art Of Spatio-Temporal Traffic Forecasting

декабря, 2022
Global

Context and background:Intelligent transportation is a dynamic field focused on enhancing travel efficiency, reducing congestion, and increasing convenience. Central to this domain is the collection and analysis of spatio-temporal data, enabling precise traffic flow predictions and the development of intelligent traffic management systems. Integrating geospatial data, encompassing road topology and proximity to public infrastructure and transportation services, presents a significant challenge in designing effective intelligent transportation systems.

A decentralized approach to model national and global food and land use systems

декабря, 2022
Global

The achievement of several sustainable development goals and the Paris Climate Agreement depends on rapid progress towards sustainable food and land systems in all countries. We have built a flexible, collaborative modeling framework to foster the development of national pathways by local research teams and their integration up to global scale. Local researchers independently customize national models to explore mid-century pathways of the food and land use system transformation in collaboration with stakeholders.

E-Extension and Digital Augmentation of the Egyptian Agricultural Sector

декабря, 2022
Global

A major challenge is how to create authentic information and innovations for agricultural extension in the digital age. It can be challenging for extension agents and agriculture extension workers to provide farmers with the knowledge and innovations they need given the limited resources available. Many development projects that were planned outside of the village turned out to be unfamiliar with its issues and needs, making them less effective in resolving the farmers' agricultural concerns, particularly those related to agricultural operations.

Assessing the Performance of Egypt's Seed Sector

декабря, 2022
Egypt

The current study shows the results of an assessment of the performance of the seed sector in Egypt. It elaborates bottlenecks and ambitions towards the development of a well-functioning seed sector that is innovative, competitive, resilient and inclusive. Since seed system configurations vary among crops groups and even crops, it zooms in on seed systems of cereals, food legumes and vegetables, and subsequently synthesizes seed sector challenges and ambitions at sector level.
