Since 2010, the Government of Rwanda addressed land tenure through a series of actions including the establishment of institutional and administrative structures for land management and administration. At district, town, and municipality level, District Land Bureaus (DLBs), complemented by sector and cell level land committees, assumed responsibility for land administration and planning. After careful piloting in 2008/09, a process for systematic low cost demarcation and adjudication using aerial photography or high resolution satellite imagery was roll-out nationally.

This report provides a brief summary of the discussions in and key findings of the Global Land
Outlook Writeshop that took place 11th - 13th of April 2016 in Amman, Jordan. The writeshop was
organized the CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Systems, in collaboration with the United
Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and ICARDA.

The scope of this Regional Law shall be to ensure conservation and rational tenancy of agricultural land and urban land and it establishes requirements for grazing and passage of cattle on the regional territory. Owners of cattle must form their livestock in herds and appoint a herdsman. In case of impossibility to for a herd, the owners must perform grazing personally or, in alternative, to keep cattle indoors. Passage of cattle to the collection points for the formation of herd shall be performed by owners of cattle or by persons appointed thereby.

These Regulations designate a coastal area as a Special Protection Area in accordance with Article 4 of Habitats Directive for protection purposes set out in Schedule 3 (coastal lagoons). The Minister shall, in accordance with the Regulations of 2011, establish and publish such particular conservation objectives as he or she, from time to time, considers necessary for the Special Area of Conservation with regard to the natural habitat type and animal and plant species specified in Schedule 3.

Rangelands are the mainstay of pastoral livelihoods worldwide. Within rangelands, there are landscape depressions or lowlands characterized by high production potentials with their unique edaphic and hydrologic properties. The purpose of this ongoing research is to evaluate the effect of grazing exclusion on the vegetation characteristics and plant community structure in the arid lowland pastoral ecosystems. Selon le dernier rapport du WWF, 114 des 229 sites naturels et mixtes inscrits au Patrimoine mondial sont menacés par des activités industrielles néfastes. Concessions pétrolière, minière ou gazière, surpêche, exploitation forestière illégale, surexploitation des ressources en eau, infrastructures de transport ou de tourisme : les menaces sont nombreuses.
