The purpose of the United Nations Challenge Badges is to raise awareness, educate and, most of all, motivate young people to change their behaviour and be active agents of change in their local communities. Challenge Badges are appropriate for use with school classes and youth groups, and are endorsed by WAGGGS and WOSM. They include a wide range of activities and ideas that can easily be adapted by teachers or leaders.
A medium-size report that describes the overall situation of data on fuelwood in Eritrea. The report starts with a broad introductory part dealing with the country's characteristics. The second part states the country's forest resources while making a distinction between the natural forests and forest plantations. The third part gives some information on timber and pole production while the following part analyses fuelwood supply and consumption. The last parts of the report are discussion topics, a conclusion and recommendations.

Los ciclos virtuosos y los servicios ecosistémicos que sustentan la producción agrícola.
Over the past two decades, political developments as well as macro-economic and extra-sectoral policies have affected the forests of Asia and the Pacific to an unprecedented extent, resulting in deforestation and forest degradation. Responding to the diminishing capacity of the region's natural forests to produce timber, many countries have turned to forest plantations. Governments and their respective forest agencies are asking what it takes to encourage non-government entities to grow trees.

One of the first products developed by AQUASTAT, since its start in 1994, has been the water resources assessment methodology. Even though very useful, during the 20 years that AQUASTAT has been using this methodology it appeared that the methodology is not without shortcomingsand is in some cases overcomplicated. It has become increasingly apparent that some of the main problems should be addressed. Therefore, in March 2015 AQUASTAT has implemented some changes, which are described in this note.
