Ce rapport présente les principales conclusions sur le changement d'utilisation des terres forestières et d'occupation des sols entre 1990 et 2005 de l'Enquête par télédétection de l'Évaluation des ressources forestières mondiales 2010 de la FAO. Il s'agit du premier rapport du genre à présenter des estimations systématiques de l'utilisation des terres forestières mondiales et de ses changements.

There is no world-wide common platform that stores and provides core data and information related to the assessment, monitoring and mapping of agri-food, environmental and water resources through indicators derived by the combination of remote sensing, geospatial anlysis, in-situ measurement and country reporting. The initiative aims to establish it.

The focus of this review has been on both documenting the general resilience of many fish resources to climatic variability and its underestimation in livelihood importance, including in protracted crisis situations, but also on enhancing the potential supply of fish from dryland areas by better use of the available water bodies, and in particular from small reservoirs.
