The present Act approves the Nunavik Inuit Land Claims Agreement. “Agreement” means the Land Claims Agreement between the Nunavik Inuit and Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Canada, signed on December 1, 2006, including any amendments made to it. Section 7 establishes that for the purposes of carrying out their objectives, the Nunavik Marine Region Wildlife Board, the Nunavik Marine Region Planning Commission and the Nunavik Marine Region Impact Review Board established by the Agreement each have the capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person.

The present Délįnę Final Self-Government Agreement (FSGA) provides for a combined Aboriginal government with a public government, as well as merging the municipal government and the band council to form a new government structure that will be called the Délįnę Got’įnę Government (DGG). This government is characterized as an "inclusive Aboriginal government" that represents all Délįnę beneficiaries. Beneficiaries in the Sahtu Dene and Métis Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement chose to divide the Sahtu Settlement Area into three districts.

The present Act approves the Agreement concluded on July 20, 1993 between Her Majesty in right of Canada and the Pictou Landing Indian Band. Section 4 deals with recourse for individual claims establishing that claims by members of the Pictou Landing Indian Band arising from the adverse effects referred to in section 13 of the Agreement may only be made against the continuing compensation account, and in accordance with the procedure, referred to in that section. The text consists of 4 sections.

The present Agreement between the Government of the Northwest Territories and the Aboriginal Parties, made on February 27, 2014, fulfils a commitment made in the Northwest Territories Intergovernmental Resource Revenue Sharing Agreement that requires the Government to recommend legislation providing for the sharing of the net fiscal benefit. This reflects the vision of communities sharing in the benefits of a prosperous Northwest Territories, and the goal of a strong and independent North built on partnerships.
