This Regional Law shall regulate the following aspects of land relations: (a) land as natural object and natural resource; (b) land plots; and (c) parts of land plots. Land plots shall be classified as divisible and indivisible. In case of land transactions and in case of land division shall be prohibited apportionment of land area of less than 300 square metres for individual housing construction and less than 500 square metres for subsidiary small-holding (farming).

This Ministerial Decree establishes the rules for state registration of rights and encumbrances to immovable property and transactions therewith. The following rights and encumbrances shall be subject to mandatory state registration: (a) ownership; (b) tenancy; (c) mortgage and encumbrances originating therefrom; (d) lease and sub-lease for the period of three years and over; (e) servitude; (f) use restrictions; (g) court decisions; (h) nature management activities listed by the Government; and (i) open-ended land tenure.

Regulation of the National Land Agency No. 2/2013 on delegation of authority to issue land titles and land registration.

This Regulation, consisting of 6 Chapters, establishes competencies, duties and responsibilities of delegation of authority to issue land titles and land registration. It governs the authority responsible for granting land title and land registration. The Heads of the National Land Agency shall be the authority responsible for regulating the right of use of land, such as: rights for freehold titles, for exploiting land, rights for cultivation titles, right for building, etc.

The present Rules are made under the Responsible Energy Development Act. In particular, the Rules establish that private surface agreements between landowners and energy companies operating on their property can now be registered with the Alberta Energy Regulator’s new Private Surface Agreements Registry (PSAR). Created as part of the Alberta Energy Regulator’s mandate to oversee energy development in the province. The Rules allow landowners to request the Regulator’s intervention, if they feel a company is not meeting a term or condition of a registered agreement.

The present Regulation is made under the Land Title Act. In particular, the Regulation lays down provisions relating to the adoption on behalf of indigenous people of the Torrens System, a land registration system in which the government is the keeper of all land and title records and a land title serves as a certificate of full, indefeasible, and valid ownership. The present Code is made under the Environmental Management Act and the Waste Discharge Regulation. In particular, the Code provides for the protection of land and water. Section 2 establishes that this Code applies to a person who conducts a wood processing industry and who operates, or proposes to operate, a landfill facility solely for the disposal of waste incidental to the wood processing operations.

Regional Law No. 21-RZ "On cultural heritage".

This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of conservation, management , promotion and state protection of the objects of cultural heritage and is aimed at ensuring constitutional right of citizens related to access to cultural heritage. Objects of cultural heritage shall be considered immovable property and shall include natural landscapes, recreational urban forests and parks. Land within the boundaries of territories of cultural heritage recorded in the public register of the objects of cultural heritage shall be considered land of historical and cultural heritage.

Regional Law No. 9-RZ “On slide areas”.

This Regional Law establishes legal status of slide areas, establishes boundaries of land areas where slide processes could originate. Slide processes shall be intended movement of rockslide under the impact of gravitation forces. A special conservation, maintenance and land-use planning regime shall be applicable to each slide area. Validated boundaries of slide areas shall be recorded in state land cadastre.

Land Tax Deferment Act ([SBC 1996] Chapter 249).

The present Act lays down provisions relating to possibilities on behalf of land owners to enter an agreement with the competent land authorities of British Columbia to obtain postponement of the payment of land tax. Section 2 establishes that the Minister may make an agreement with an owner who qualifies under this Act permitting the owner to defer paying all or part of the tax payable on the eligible property during the term of the agreement.
