This Act, consisting of 15 sections and one Schedule, provides for certain endowments of dry harbour land to be revested in the Crown or reserved for certain purposes, and to amend certain enactments. Section 4 empowers the Governor-General to declare specified lands vested in local authorities to be revested in the Crown for purpose of conservation (under the Conservation Act 1987), or for the purpose of creating reserves under the Reserves Act 1977.

This Act provides for the conservation of land in St. Lucia, for the establishment of a Board to be known as the Land Conservation Board, for conferring on that Board functions as to land, and for purposes connected therewith or incidental thereto. Land is defined as including land covered by water and in fact this Act contains provisions on drainage works.

The Plan, made under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, consisting of 13 sections completed by five Schedules, applies to the following areas of the Hunter Region: City of Cessnock, City of Lake Macquarie, Dungog, Gloucester, Merriwa, Muswellbrook, Port Stephens, Scone.

The Plan, consisting of 66 sections divided into ten Parts and completed by five Schedules, applies to all of the land within the area of Kiama.

The Plan aims at: (a) providing planning controls for the local government area of Botany; (b) rationalising and simplifying zoning and development controls; (c) providing direction and guidance to the community concerning desired growth and change in the local government area of Botany and the manner in which growth and change are proposed to be managed.

On the basis of surveys and investigations carried out by the Director of Agriculture for the purposes of ascertaining the nature and extent of soil erosion and of damages to land caused by floods and drought, the Minister may by Order published in the Gazette declare any area to be an erodible area.
