Digital Observatory for Protected Areas

DOPA

DOPA is a biodiversity information system developed by the JRC that functions as a tool for assessing, monitoring and forecasting biodiversity status and trends. It is made up of a set of interoperable web services developed by the JRC, using data from international organisations such as the World Conservation Monitoring Centre of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility, among others.

Protected Planet

Protected Planet is the most up to date and complete source of information on protected areas, updated monthly with submissions from governments, non-governmental organizations, landowners and communities. It is managed by the United Nations Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) with support from IUCN and its World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA).

The Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW) helps communities speak out for clean air, clean water, and a healthy planet. We are a global alliance of attorneys, scientists and other advocates collaborating across borders to promote grassroots efforts to build a sustainable, just future.

Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation

We are the world’s first environmental trust fund, established in 1992 as a collaborative venture between the Royal Government of Bhutan, United Nations Development Program, and World Wildlife Fund. An endowment of US$20 million was set up as an innovative mechanism to finance conservation programs over the long term in Bhutan. Donors to the trust fund include the World Wildlife Fund and the Global Environment Facility, the governments of Bhutan, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland.

The Ecology Crossroads Cooperative Foundation is incorporated in the Commonwealth of Kentucky under ID 0329183 as a nonprofit corporation established on April 12, 1994, is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-governmental organization (NGO) under US Tax ID (EIN) number 61-1259384 and exists to fulfill the charitable purposes further set forth in its Certificate of Authority and Restated Articles of Incorporation.
