This Legislative Decree establishes Land Use Planning within the Autonomous Region of Madeira (POTRAM). It consists of 6 Chapters defining the general acctions to be performed for the planning and development of land use and soil occupation, defense and protection of environment and natural heritage, etc. The Regulation is divided as follows: General provisions, structure of territory, zoning and classification of lands (Chap. 1); Lands to be exploited (2); Agricultural and forestry lands (3); Wildlife protected areas and ecosystem preservation (4); Pipelines (5) and Urban land (6).

This Circular concerns the functioning and internal organization of State enterprises that have been allocated by the competent State bodies forests and forestry land for forest industry purposes and of business companies in which "dependent cost-accounting State forestry farms" participate. The second part of this Circular concerns the reorganization of State forestry farms so as to operate them in a more commercial manner. The area described in the Schedule to these Regulations is declared to be a Special Development Area in the sense of the Land Utilization Act (Cap. 188). The type of development permitted includes agriculture, forestry, wildlife reserve and environmental protection. The Land Utilization Authority shall draw up a Development Plan for the area after consultation with such local persons and institutions as it may think fit. The Plan shall be submitted to the Minister of Natural Resources, The Environment and Industry for approval. The Plan shall be available for inspection to the public.

An Act to make provision for the ecologically, socially and economically sustainable use of natural resources, i.e. land, water and the physical environment (sect. 1).The Act is divided into 6 Chapters: Introductory provisions (1); Basic management provisions (2); Particular management provisions for specified areas in the country (3); Admission testing for industrial plants, etc. (4) Environment impact assessment statements (5); Duties of authorities, distribution of responsibilities, etc.

The purpose of these Regulations is to prescribe the form of the notice of the intention of the Minister to make a purchase order in pursuance of section 55 of the Wildlife Act, 1976, in respect of registered land. Section 55 allows the Minister, if he wishes so to purchase land by issuing a purchase order under conditions specified in that section. Regulation 4 concerns procedures for lodging any claim by a person to an interest in the relevant land.

These Regulations amend the principal Regulations by inserting a new set of arable options and making some minor amendments. Such options include retention of overwintered stubbles followed by the cultivation or fallow creation and management of a conservation headland (with or without fertilizer application), establishment and maintenance of wildlife seed mixtures providing a food source and cover for a range of wild birds, mammals and invertebrates, and establishment and maintenance of nectar and pollen-rich plant mixture for the benefit of foraging insects, wild birds and mammals.
