The Civil Society commends the Ministry of Lands for spearheading the important process of developing the Draft National Policy, and affirms that land is central to the livelihoods of most Kenyans and as such its access, use, ownership, administration and distribution are of key national concern. Thus, having critically examined the Draft Policy we do hereby make our position on the way forward on the salient policy proposals of the Draft National Land Policy document.

Estado peruano vulnera derechos indígenas por las mineras

Pese a que el “mandato constitucional” exige al Estado peruano realizar consultas previas a las comunidades indígenas sobre la concesión de una actividad minera en sus territorios, Perú sigue reportando casos en los que se “hace caso omiso a la ley”, vulnerando así los derechos de los pueblos nativos.

Estos deben acudir a los tribunales sistemáticamente, ante un modelo de Justicia culturalmente discriminador, para hacer valer unos derechos que son de obligatorio cumplimiento legal para todos los funcionarios.
