The Network Movement for Justice and Development (NMJD) is a national human rights-oriented civil society development and advocacy organization that was established in Kenema, eastern Sierra Leone in 1988. It engages in advocacy and strengthens/enhances the capacity of civil society organizations to effectively engage women, men, children, communities, government and other actors for the transformation of society.

NMJD engages government on policy reform matters and has a long history and experience in working with grassroots communities in Sierra Leone. The organization enjoys tremendous respect and legitimacy among a vast number of both local and international partners including national NGOs, the media, government and the donor community.

The work focuses on empowering especially poor people, as well as strengthening their capacity, to challenge and transform the systems that keep them in poverty and build a free, just and democratic Sierra Leone where there is justice, respect for human rights and sustainable development for the benefit of all.

The organization has offices located in all the regions of the country and a central country office in Freetown.
