FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Technical Papers 411: The report, consisting of 23 studies, describes how the initial allocations of transferable fishing (effort) or fish (catch) quotas have been done by a variety of fisheries management regimes around the world.

For a long time the issue of land and related problems has been debated mostly by academicians, politicians and professionals. Although the problem has remained more or less one of the most talked of in Kenya, the public has very often been left out of the debate. Again mostly the debate has been dominated more by complaining about either the lack of policy or the bad land policies and laws and the failure by successive governments to correct those problems.

The publication focuses on participatory processes and their management, and presents a broad range of concrete experience with different tools. It is assumed that the reader is already familiar with the use of tools like PRA/PLA/PME and is now interested in second generation issues related to project design, training and measurement of impact associated with the use of participatory processes. Each article reflects a specific experience. As such, it has its own validity.

These Measures, consisting of 15 Articles, are formulated in order to strengthen the administration of administrative area boundaries at all levels in the autonomous region.The civil administration departments of the people's governments at all levels are the competent authorities for the management of administrative area boundaries. This study examines benefits of rent control law in Metro Manila. The results show that rent control benefits are conditional to occupying a rent-controlled unit and on tenure. The benefits of rent control are found positive. Many poor and low-income households are benefited but the distributional effects are minimal since non-poor families have equal access to rent-controlled units. Evidence of losses or income transfers from landlords to tenants is not substantiated. The most probable income transfers are those from short-stayers to long-stayers.

In Pakistan, the case for both land reform and, more broadly, agrarian reforms, is premised on the need to create sustainable livelihoods which is widely agreed to be the most effective method of alleviating poverty. In addition, land reform combats social injustice while achieving sustained economic growth.
