Also known as our mission, the purpose stands behind all of the company strategy – it is our reason for being, it guides everything we do. The specific words are less important than the “spirit” of the idea.

We are a consultancy and project management firm with 45 years of global experience in tackling complex facets of climate change, forestry, water resources, ecosystems and institutional governance.

We provide management and consultative services within the broad sector of environmental development. Our dynamic in-house team of thought leaders and innovative implementers are committed to affecting the best practice in the field.

  • Matching client manufacturing facilities to potential export added value products with a focus on sawmill fallers.
  • Improving log conversion rates within client companies;
  • Market studies to identify opportunities for added value wood products from Ghanaian producers.
  • Identification of potential foreign buyers.

The Forest, Governance, Markets and Climate Programme (FGMC) is a programme aimed at tackling forest governance failures in developing timber producing countries and the consequent market failures that result in illegal exploitation of forest land and resources and the associated trade in timber and other commodities. As a DFID flagship programme, FGMC is an important part of the UK government's broader international initiative on climate change.

The BRACC programme is investing in four key interlinked components: 1. Climate resilient livelihoods: up to £52 million to reduce the impact of climate shocks on poor and vulnerable households through asset transfers; improved agricultural production; natural resource management; and access to more diverse income streams. This is being delivered through a joint Non-Government Organisation (NGO) and United Nations (UN) led consortium called Promoting Sustainable Partnerships for Empowered Resilience (PROSPER). 2.

Geographical focus:

FLAG is a £32.5 million programme from 2015-2018 supporting action to reduce the rate of deforestation and peat land degradation in Indonesia. FLAG supports the Government of Indonesia’s targets for reducing emissions of greenhouse gas (GHG). The aim of the programme is to tackle a range of market and governance failures that drive unsustainable deforestation and peat land degradation in Indonesia.

To support public-private partnerships that demonstrate how companies, communities, smallholders and governments can work collaboratively to reduce deforestation and benefit forest dependent communities. Land is one component of this programme.
