Mission and Vision

A just world, without poverty. That is our mission. We believe that people can build independent livelihoods, provided their rights are respected. That is why we help people around the world to stand up for their rights.

1. Right to sustainable livelihood resources

Everybody must be sure of a fair income and enough to eat. Yet this is not the case for 20% of the world’s population. That is why we are working on better access to land and water, and on fair working and trading conditions.

2. Right to basic social services

Education and health care are essential for building better societies. Yet even as we make progress towards universal primary education, around the world, there are still 130 million kids in school who fail to learn basic reading, writing and maths. When governments fail to deliver, Oxfam together with partner organizations invest in quality basic social services.

3. Right to life and security

Natural disasters, climate change and armed conflicts hit millions of people every year. We support them with relief aid and reconstruction. And we prepare people to prevent or mitigate the effects of disasters and conflicts.

4. Right to social and political participation

Knowledge is power. We believe that when people can participate in public decisions that affect them, they can build independent livelihoods and thriving communities.Together with partners we give people access to information and a voice.

5. Right to an identity

Gender inequality is both a violation of human rights and an obstacle to sustainable development. In a just world there is no place for the discrimination of women and minorities.

Our Core Values

When people’s basic rights are respected, we can rid the world of poverty and injustice. This is what we stand for:

  • Empowerment

We work on the basis of the power and potential of people. We provide practical and innovative solutions to empower people to build their livelihoods without poverty.

  • Accountability

We call on those in power to consider people in a vulnerable position in word and action.  And we of course account for our own work to governments, donors, supporters, volunteers, corporations and almost 17 million Dutch men and women.

  • Inclusiveness

We are all equal, irrespective of the accident of birth, gender, faith or sexual orientation. In all our work we give special attention to the position and rights of women and minorities. And given the potentially pivotal role of women as agents of change, gender justice is at the heart of everything we do.

In addition, it will support actions which improve the business climate and support reforms to enhance tenure security and governance of the cocoa sector. The overall cost of the program is estimated at UA 156,815,000 for a total duration of 12 months. The two components of the program are (i) enhancing the efficiency and transparency of public financial management; and (ii) diversification of the sources of growth of the Ivorian economy.

Land Rights Now is an international alliance campaign to secure indigenous and community land rights everywhere, by developing local to global campaigns that engage the public - raising awareness of the link between secure land rights, climate change, and food systems - and mobilizing them to exercise pressure on Governments to secure collective land rights. To deepen the connection between Land Rights Now and the climate justice movement, LRN is developing a new campaign on securing land rights, defending indigenous rights, and confronting the climate crisis; identifying local and national campaigns led by both land and climate activists, and broadening our alliances with international climate justice movements and feminist organizations to develop common campaigns around key international summits. The service provided is to ensure the coordination of the Land Rights Now campaign from December 2022 to February 2023.The key focus of coordination is to provide support to national campaigns, communicationslearning, and facilitating coordination of other participating organizations’ efforts and outreach to new allies, especially youth- and women-led movements on climate justice. The campaign is co-convened by Oxfam and the International Land Coalition and has an Advisory Board who review plans and provide guidance. The coordination is hosted by Oxfam.

Campanha Cresca - Mocambique, is a project that aims to stop land-grabbing and related issues in Mozambique, from 1st of January 2016 until 31st of December 2019. The GROW campaign launched globally in 2011 with the goal of #People living in poverty claim power in the way the world manages land, water and climate change, so that they can grow or buy enough food to eat # now and in the future.# 3 years later, and 6 years since the 2008 global food crisis, hunger amidst a world of plenty continues to be the scandal of our age. From 2016-19, our EJ campaigning will build on the foundations we have created in the first 4 years of GROW to help to re-energise the fight against hunger. We will help shift the power balance by campaigning with people around the world on 3 crucial battle grounds in the fight against hunger: agriculture, climate change, and land rights. key external opportunities for Oxfam in Mozambique to achieve change in 2016-9 related to economic justice and Oxfam Strategic Plan goals 4 <(>&<)> 5. 1. Is in the process of drafting the national law on Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition; 2. The Southern African Development Community [SADC] has adoptedmeasures to revolutionise the agricultural sector, which contributes between 4 percent and 27 percent of the regional GDP and about13% of total export earnings. The SADC is advocating increased support for farmers to boost production. Farmers are at the centre of Africa#s transformation agenda. Therefore, clear agricultural policies such as access to inputs, especially seeds and fertiliser, as well as credit facilities and extension services, are needed to improve yields 3. The 10th Anniversary of Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) is an important milestone and an opportunity to continue to prioritize agriculture and foodsecurity in policy and implementation to generate concrete results and impacts; 4. Operationalization of AU Agenda 2063 will influence that more rural women living in poverty are economically the decisions that affect them and more small-scale and marginal producers will intensify their production sustainably, adapt to climate change and increase their resilience to shocks and stresses;

Frauen, in Verwaltungshandeln einbindet). Œ ŒZielgruppe: ŒDie Zielgruppe ist die Bevölkerung in den Interventionsregionen. Œ ŒBeitrag zur nationalen Umsetzung der Agenda 2030: ŒDas Modul leistet einen Beitrag zur Erreichung des Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1, SDG 8 und SDG 16 der Agenda 2030 für nachhaltige Entwicklung, welche durch den nationalen Entwicklungsplan Plan Sénégal Emergent (PSE) umgesetzt wird.
