Une étude coordonnée par le Cirad souligne la nécessité d'adopter une approche intégrée associant santé humaine, animale et environnementale pour lutter contre le phénomène complexe de l’antibiorésistance. Ces travaux figurent parmi les premiers de cette envergure réalisée dans un pays du Sud. Ils ont été publiés le 23 juin dans The Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.

Chaque 17 juin, la journée mondiale de la lutte contre la sécheresse et la désertification sensibilise aux causes et conséquences de ces phénomènes. Particulièrement impliqué dans ces défis, l'IRD publie la déclaration pour la mobilisation du réseau international de recherche RESET_GMV. Ce réseau interdisciplinaire de laboratoires, coporté par l’Institut, engage une nouvelle dynamique pour la gestion durable des terres et des territoires dans la zone de la Grande muraille verte (GMV), au Sahel.

Du 24 au 26 mai 2023, a eu lieu dans la salle de conférence de l’hôtel de France de Grand-Bassam, l’atelier national de réflexion, d’échange sur le foncier rural et de lancement de l’ORFAO en Côte d’Ivoire. Cet atelier a été organisé par le Ministère d’Etat, Ministère de l’Agriculture et du Développement Rural (MEMINADER), avec l’appui technique et financier de la Commission de l’UEMOA, dans le cadre de l’opérationnalisation de l’Observatoire Régional du Foncier Rural en Afrique de l’Ouest (ORFAO).

Dans la quête de la sécurité alimentaire mondiale et des pratiques agricoles durables, le riz joue un rôle vital en tant que culture principale, notamment dans des régions telles que l’Afrique subsaharienne et l’Asie. Reconnaissant l’importance du développement du secteur du riz dans ces zones, l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO) a organisé un atelier régional décisif sur les politiques rizicoles intitulé « Échange d’expériences sur les politiques réussies de développement du secteur du riz en Afrique subsaharienne et en Asie ».
